As you run a game, it’s often difficult to juggle everything and keep the action and story focused and driving forward.
Everyone’s doing things, and players can end up feeling a bit … unspecial, lost in the chaos of the game.
Something that can help with this is to pick a player character and act as if they’re in a spotlight. They become the “main character” for a session or half a session, and, while everyone is doing a bunch of different things, the action revolves around that character.
It’s worth keeping track of who you’ve spotlighted to make sure the love and attention gets spread around. That way, even the quietest players at the table get their time to shine.
As you prep your next session, plan on a character or two to spotlight!
