Of course, they’re not related, not in the slightest.
But still. There’s gotta be something there, right?
Leave it to D&D players to find connections between things that are completely, absolutely, and in all other ways unrelated.
I say let it happen. Don’t change your world to make the players always correct when they’ve made a poor connection, because then there’s no reward or satisfaction when they actually do figure things out.
Of course, it’s on you to make sure you’re providing enough clues and accurate descriptions and whatnot.
But once you’ve done that?
Just let them be wrong, grab ye olde fantasy popcorn, and enjoy the show.
